Phoenix 101: Freshman Orientation

Phoenix 101: Freshman Orientation

Welcome to the Rise of the Phoenix! Phoenix 101 is designed to help incoming freshmen feel informed, confident, and prepared for their transition to New Hampstead High School.

During orientation, students will learn how high school differs from middle school and why every course, credit, grade, and attendance day matters beginning in ninth grade. Students will receive important information about graduation progress, GPA, academic and behavior expectations, attendance, uniforms, personal-device guidelines, school safety, and how to advocate for themselves when they need assistance.

Freshmen will also become familiar with the school building, meet members of the Phoenix community, and learn about the people, programs, activities, and academic resources available to support their success. Students should leave Phoenix 101 ready to begin the school year with purpose, build strong habits from the first day, and make every course count.

Date: July 27
Time: 12:00–2:30 p.m.
Audience: Incoming New Hampstead High School freshmen

Freshman year is the foundation of the high school journey. Start strong, stay consistent, ask for support, and begin with the end in mind—graduating on track, on time, and ready for your future.
